Hello! My name is Ben Shekut, a freelance illustrator based in Lakewood Ohio. I focus on a variety of different genres and mediums of art, but I mainly focus on character design, visual development, graphic design, and merchandising. I also do a variety of commission work for individuals as well as companies / organizations as well.

I would say that a lot of my work relies heavily on color and rendering style. I work in many different types of styles from simple cel shading, all the way to semi-realistic painting. A lot of what I make involves anthropomorphic or animalistic characters, monster design, world building, packaging design, and pattern making. My target audience revolves around nerdy / geeky communities, the LGBTQ+, young adults, as well as other artists.

Aside from just illustration and graphic design, I also work with 3D sculpting, writing, teaching, and working in multiple different type of craft mediums. I’ve mainly been working on writing a graphic novel as my current project, and hope to publish it online in the future.
